Labour's love lost

Picture
Dear Leader, Kier Starmer, "It's not right to say only women have a cervix."

Watching the UK Labour Party conference this week, a couple of things struck me - their ‘winning’ strategy pivots on insulting the electorate, engaging in endless struggle and talking nonsense.

Mind you, I'm also taken aback by how far the party has moved away from representing the working class. Instead, it's morphed into a collective of woke middle-class types intent on infighting. How Labour believes it can credibly project itself as representing ordinary working folk is beyond me.

Moreover, the party feels comfortable admonishing the electorate for not voting them into power. Deputy leader Angela Rayner called her fellow citizens “scum”. This approach echoes Hilary Clinton's blunder with her 'deplorable's' speech — not a winning plan, methinks.

Further, has Labour embraced all the craziness of postmodernism? Looks like it. In that world, everything is about power and oppression, and all truths are subjective.

As a result of this drift into postmodern bullshit, we get the Dear Leader, Kier Starmer, asserting that, "It's not right to say only women have a cervix". Really? By denying scientific facts, Starmer and his party open themselves to ridicule.

Presumably, under Starmer, transitioning men will be eligible for cervical smear tests on the NHS.

How many millions will be wasted on this deranged nonsense as gynaecologists pretend to take imaginary tissue samples from imaginary cervices? Meanwhile, waiting lists for cancer treatments and other ailments will continue to lengthen.

In a side meeting at the conference, the Chair complained, "Too many white men are putting their hands up to ask questions". God forbid that a white Jewish male raises his hand.

So, should white men remain silent because of a spurious claim of white privilege? Looks like it. Another vote-getter — not.

I suggest that Labour tell this to the working-class boys who they've left behind as the system fails me. Because in education, poverty and life expectancy, white males are underperforming all other groups. Yet, in Labour land, this is accepted as fine and dandy since white males are by definition privileged.

Of course, in postmodernism, white men are defined as apex predators; thus, it's impossible to discriminate against them. Moreover, speech and words are power; therefore, censorship and controls must be applied.

We've seen plenty of that - banning specific speakers from university campuses because their words may harm the delicate students.

Many of the things seen at the conference came straight out of the postmodernism manual. Such nonsense as feelings and 'knowing' trumping science and facts, while civility gets dismissed as a cover for power.

With no objective truths, the postmodernists see a balkanised world of endless struggle. That was clear in the Labour Party conference. Even as Starmer gave his keynote speech, he was heckled relentlessly from the floor.

At the last election, Labour’s support in the post-industrial north of England collapsed. Meanwhile, Scotland has more pandas than Labour MPs; Yang Guang and Tian Tian reside in Edinburgh Zoo.

These antics at the conference are unlikely to bring back those voters, especially when you insult them, deny them a voice and tell them to check their privilege. As social justice becomes a form of persecution, it’s fortunate that savvy voters aren’t ready to embrace the Labour Party.

I leave you with this clip; it looks like the Labour's bid to lose the next election has started. No wonder Boris, the clown, is looking so chipper.

Spot on Walter. I shouldn’t be surprised that a Hong Kong commentator sees things more clearly than people who actually attended the conference. By the way, the public comments affixed to the video clip say much about how we on planet Earth received the call for fewer questions from white folks.

You’ve hit the nail on the head Walter. Labour has completely lost its grip on reality and on the issues that concern the masses most. And you’re right, post-modernism and cultural Marxism has driven them into into madness.
